Medals of Honor

I checked the mail today to see that we received our diocese's monthly magazine, Christ is Our Hope magazine, which I am the cover story for September. I am honored and humbled that God has been able to use me in this way to lead us closer to His mission for all of our lives, which ultimately lead back to Him.

As I looked at the magazine cover, my gaze turned toward my necklace. I wear a chain with 4 different Saint medals. I like to see which saint is on top of the little mound of medals as a little prayer throughout the day. Whichever one is on top, I say a little prayer to and I feel as though they are with me in that moment. On the cover of the magazine, two medals are side by side: Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Francis of Assisi.

With family visits, a little time off, and the work calendar getting more full by the minute, today was the first day that I've been able to pick-up my book that I started a month ago. I turned to the page marked by my page saver. I used two prayer cards, which happened to be the prayer cards of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Francis of Assisi.

There is my little "God wink" for the day. Pier and Francis are with me a little more closely today.
