My Home is You

In class we talked about how this week had been an emotional roller coaster. However, prayer time during our class gave us space to think and digest so to take us deeper to hope--the best is yet to come.

As I live away from home and I go back and forth to see family, I am faced with the dilemma of "where is home for me?" It could be a part of the transition of being newly married too of course. We are in the process of creating our home. The best is yet to come.

BUT I have been faced also with these questions: What is home? What does home look like? How does God fit into "home"?

I can't help but think of the quote "home is where your heart is." For our wedding, we were given wall decor that has that quote on it, so I see it every day. I thought, however, isn't our home wherever we are with God? As much as we miss our families and as much as we want to build a home of our own among school and ministry responsibilities, it isn't a true home without God.

The first song that I ever danced to with my husband in his parent's kitchen when we first started dating was "The Best is Yet to Come" by Frank Sinatra. That song keeps revealing itself to us and it's one of those songs that we cling to. I find my home in my husband and in God, and God is finding a home in us. There is much ahead for all of us. . . .the best is yet to come.
